Is There a Short Cut That Starts the Writing Timer?

Just timers doesn't synchronize across devices, so i can't get it to work on the mack. Timers are always accurately representing what is 100% of the current situation. I'm still using my phone the default place for time tracking nearly % of the time because that's where i can count on my count down. The only thing that kills me is when a timer ap gets activated to be in 20 minutes instead of an hour and 20s.
