The Role of Aerodynamics in Speed Skating

I grew up in Northern Indiana where it's pretty flat and kind of windy and empty farm roads. I got quite used to just hunkering down and riding with my head down. So, there are actually data out there showing that in speed skaters, for example, the by the hip joint angle force relationship is skewed to a more acute angle in untrained individuals. And then you can picture somebody who was a runner first, right, and upright posture. And then in, you know, full adulthood, you try to become a cyclist, you may be at a disadvantage to somebody who's been doing it since they were 14 or 15.
