The Future of Optimism
The last person to really run for office with a big vision of change was Reagan. He believed again much more than many of his advisors that with the right mix of tax cuts and deregulation, you could get the economy going again. And in both of these he was at least over the short medium term, very much vindicated. The lack of ambition of major politicians is pretty, and political parties is pretty striking.
