I Want Her to Be Both Sympathetic and Admirable

i haven't read the age of innocence, but i did read like ten years ago now. What i remember about the bok and princess is that she has a romance with this guy who's also too brain washed by society to save her. And if i were ellen, i would have the thought of, like, boy, like, if i run off with sky and it all goes pear shaped, because he's kind of an idiot,. then where will everyone be? Right?
