The offshore banking system, you know, evasion of capital controls and stuff like that, it's always been happening in the shadows. But when you start taking out like buying stadiums and crap, I mean, it's too much in your face and it embarrasses politicians. And whatever you think of how lobbying works in a lot of the world, taking on the financial services lobby so brazenly was always going to end badly for you.
