Harvard researchers looked at different flow shapes to associate with anatomic collapse patterns. In early inspiration a spike and then a wave on the flow channel is often associated with epiglottic collapse. The third feature is when you see at the end of inspiration, early expiration, a square root sign where the airflow is being pushed out of the mouth instead of the nose. And that's when a pal closes on expiration or expiratory palicle apps.
