The History of Babylonia
From 606 until 589 BC, the second Babylonian Empire flourished in securely. It flourished so long as it kept the peace with the stronger, heartier, median empire to the north. Even under the Assyrian monarchs and especially under Sardinopolis, Babylon had been a scene of great intellectual activity.
