The Curse of the Burning Bush

The tree of life represents God's eternal power and life and glory. Being eaten by a mortal dirt creature is going to change you. For a human to exist as an eternal partner of God, we're going to need some kind of upgrade of the hardware. That's what the burning bush represents. It's like, whoa. It's going to consume me like that bush. I'm now here in the presence of my creator. And Moses says, don't be afraid. God has come in order to test you. He's come to test you in order that the fear of him might remain with you so that you don't sin.
