Psalm six has a lot of repeated sounds. Sound play is just one more poetic technique to draw your attention to something important. In the end, you have not only a sound play, but it's also the plea itself being answered point for point in the sounds. So poetically, this is beautiful and powerful. You know, david starts out dismayed, but then his enemies end up dismayed. David starts up, what is god doing? And he ends up carrying out god's justice on the wicked.
