How Do I Switch Between Electric and Gas Modes?

We're essentially turning the car into a plug-in hybrid. The big difference being that we have much larger battery pack than a traditional hybrid would. And so it allows you to run on pure electric power for a given number of miles per charge. Most people will just run in electric mode until their battery is depleted, then fire up your engine and keep going. It's one of the main challenges with trying to do this universal approach is making the user experience acceptable.
