You know by by staying in a position when it's in your favor you'll hit all these nice fat tails and then if you get a fat tail against you then you'll cut your position and be out of it so the idea is that you can you can transform a distribution that's kind of unpleasant like the S&P 500 If you can be short on the days when there are negative fat tails and vice versa then you'll get your own the distribution of your returns will look like a nice positively skewed distribution with lots of big fat right hand tails.
