How to Build a Cathedral in the Middle Ages

In Salisbury there are three surviving medieval wind glasses which are essentially huge big hamster wheels and they are sighted up in usually in the crossing towers so over the center of the cathedral. From the windlass from this great hamster wheel was a rope because the hamster wheel would winch up there'd be a basket on the bottom of it and it would winchup your materials. When we get to the final chapter which is Florence you'll see as well some very interesting tales about how these amazing buildings were built. The expertise and experience of numerology and geometry and mathematics I think is really what's at the heart of these buildings and why they are as successful as they are.
