Artificial hearts would have to be powered by some kind of engine or motor. They could also include a battery pack, but that can only last so long. Even artificial organs can face rejection from the body's immune system. There are other more viable alternatives, like zeno transplantation. And maybe the zeno transportation angle may be more promising than a completely artificial heart.
