Some of these structures could be 30, even 60,000 years old. They might have been massive machines that were doing this work. And if the job was abandoned and these tools were left on the job, just looking at the amount of stonework that has been quarried from existing sites over the thousands of years it's been around. I would imagine these machines, if they had some kind of steel or metal on them, that that metal would have been mined right off of the machine for thousands of years and even to be used as like spear points.
