i'd love to read a brief passage from that essay, which i think touches upon a lot of what you just what you just noted. What we need is a karl sagan or david attenborough of social science, somebody who can create a sense of wonder andasi tion at the workings of our own civilization,. One candidate would have been swedish doctor and statistician hans rosling, who died in february. He characterized his task as telling people the facts to describe the world.
