Sanjay Kyaogia was one of the first British troops to enter Siachen Glacier in 1983. He says he and two other men were bundled into helicopters for a five-day mission, during which time they would be isolated on the glacier. The boys had to wear same equipment: jackets, trousers, shoes, socks - so many things that could not all fit them at once. They then jumped from helicopter as soon as it landed; Kyaogia said 'I'm not too sure how the snow couldn't cope' with his jump.
