i wonder whether we could draw a line between the period that you've researched, and that time in the late sixties. And say something about how the figure of the blackmailer is sort of the real villain of this story. The far more common type that i came across was more opportunistic blackmai. Men would go to day cruising sights, and they would be set upon by groups of men who would accuse them f you know, trying to initiate a sexual act with them.
