Ike: There were some white knuckl moments when i was far from land. Even on a calm day, ah, you just think, o what if something went wrong? The water is very, very cold, even in the middle of summer. And if you get hypothermia far from land, your limbs are going to seize up. So very important to stay calm, stay relaxed in those situations.
We live in a noisy world by any estimation. And while we need people, we also need solitude.
This week I’m speaking with Adam Shoalts, who was named one of the “greatest living explorers” by Canadian Geographic. Adam is an author, speaker, and adventurer who has learned to tap into the rejuvenating power of solitude.
In our conversation, Adam reminds us about the importance of the solo adventure in life to reconnect with ourself and rediscover what matters most. I hope you will feel inspired to create more space than you have right now.
