There are very few countries in the world that are able to finance running governments simply from taxes, every country borrows. In 1914, the total population of the continent was around 120 million. That's basically the population of Ethiopia today. Today, we are about 1.4 billion. It's an 11 fold increase in the population,. And that population is increasing it very, very young. There is just not enough money generated within our economies to allow us to do this.
