The Uncanny

The idea of the uncanny is for ideas over here. One way to read this whole essay, which I don't necessarily think we're going to do, is that it's a very 20th century reckoning with what in the 19th century would be called the sublime. And angst gets translated as dread sometimes. Like Kierkegaard has a book that we usually translate as the concept of anxiety, but sometimes it's dread.
