The UN General Secretary says he likes the idea of an international watchdog agencies, kind of like the International Atomic Energy Agency. I think everyone I talk to thinks a global agency is necessary, to kill her. We need to be more forgiving both of the companies and of the regulators for getting it wrong. If we continue this kind of adversarial, polarised battle, then people will shrink into their corners and not want to be proactive and engage. And so far, in the last couple years, AI companies have been quite forthright in calling for proactive regulation. It's great that DeepMind has been saying this for a long time. And we should try to keep building that trusting relationship whilst acknowledging

Now, he and his co-founders Reid Hoffman and Karén Simonyan have started Inflection AI, a startup that creates “personal AIs,” and they're launching with a chatbot called Pi.
