In many ways, philosophy is all about the interaction between the mind and the world. What technology does is gives us a new case of the mind - virtual reality. We're gradually constructing systems artificially made of silicon that seem to have human capacities. That raises the question: are artificial minds genuine minds? In principle, artificial minds can be genuine minds. And as in the case of theMind, I want to argue that the answer is yes. Virtual reality is in principle a kind of genuine reality.
