I suppose the most realistic thing that will happen in the not so distant future, or what neural link is trying, ways of a human computer, like cyborgs. I don't think that's too science fiction. And when that happens, it will raise lots of interesting questions about what part of the system is conscious. What can we upload our consciousness to some eternity method where we can keep our consciousness going after life, after biological life, leaves us? That's a bet I'm not prepared to take. It relies on all these assumptions that are very hard to know which way to take them.
