The Importance of Love
In the middle of his section where he talks to them about their extreme giftedness, Paul gives this beautiful chapter. It's the first Corinthians 13 love chapter. This doesn't have anything to do with marital love or romantic love though. He says that in moments like that, we are like a noisy gong or a clanging symbol. In other words, when you try to help someone without love, you are, he said, annoying. But if love is not present, he said,. you are nothing and you gain nothing.
