The Cost of Supporting a Product
If you can make it cheap enough to support, then presumably that means there's other more valuable work you could do instead. Most companies have lots of things that they would like to do that they cannot get to. So if you can make the cost of supporting this product low enough in time or I don't know in specialized skill set, then there's now somewhere more effective where your time could be spent. Does that make sense? Totally.
