Is There a Lamb for a Burnt Offering?
Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac, his son. It's interesting that the beloved son who is the sacrifice carries the wood up the hill to the place where the sacrifice will be made. I think there's a pattern here that will be fulfilled when Christ carries his own cross. The end of verse seven is interesting the way it's worded. Literally God will see for himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.
