Legal Challenges to the Bill?
Reese: The biggest challenge for the bill is not the legal issues, even if the UK hadn't signed the refugee convention or wasn't part of the European Convention on Human Rights. I think the practical obstacles to implementing it are in some ways bigger. Madeline: What do you think some of the legal challenges to the legislation will look like and what kind of impact might that have on the delivery of the bill? Reese: There's been a lot of discussion, obviously, about the compatibility of the bill with various different international and domestic laws.
