Are You Going to Seize Control of Art?
i'm a lover of art, and i see that it has more in it to tell us than our theories. And even if you have a good political philosophy, you are likely to destroy the best of what art has to offer you. If you take your politics and you just shove it on to art, even if your politics are good, i'm sorry, but it's just not that simple. conservatives have this thing where we see old art and we think, ah, yes, this is grand art. But then we react like new movies that are made by people on our side, and we go, oh,but this doesn't fit into my political programe well.
