I had an anti-imperialist orientation even before it was formulated in precise ways through dialectical materialism and the kind of analysis about capitalism that you receive from Marxism. identified with maybe even to some extent with the Iranian revolution with attempts to overthrow these corrupt Western proxy governments on behalf of a better future for the people just as a broad you know sense I think also identification with the cause of the liberation of Palestine so I think there were some natural interrelationships between these two things in the formation of my own political consciousness.
