Identifying Preferences in Physical Activity Programs

The medical model very much jumps straight to the intervention, but probably misses that important prelude in terms of identifying what's important to them. What kind of foods do you enjoy eating in our programs it's never that any food is taboo because then people get their thoughts really focused on chocolate chocolate chocolate if we say you can't have chocolate. And a lot of people value control, for example, and control that sense of control,. If we can play into that and help people understand how physical activity can ultimately help them control their pain, then maybe you've got the buy in that you need to make it simple.
