I highly doubt confidential transactions are ever going to happen on Bitcoin. The dream is really on the app level, and that's what Step On was talking about earlier. I am very, very excited about Sparrow, that's sparrowwallet.com. Craig Raw from South Africa developed it. He basically made a wallet that he wanted to use as very few dependencies.
