Vonnoman's Life and Death
In the late 19 forties, he worked on a cellular automati algorithms that stimulated life. He theorized about what are now called fon norman ropes, self replicating spacecraft which might be used to explore interstellar space. Unlike most men of the first intellectual rank, whose special abilities and contributions tend to decline after age forty, vonnoman never seemed to slow down. Still, even baricharia sees that von noman lacked focus, mentioning his work on the molecular basis of life. For norman dabbled brilliantly, widely and rather inconclusively in the subject, but intuitively hit upon a number of ideas that were proved to be fertile areas of search for others.
