How to Balance Desire and Ambient Longing in a Novel

I think a lot of it was intuitive, kind of just reading it out loud and feeling like, you know, you want those those lyrical moments to land with the reader. And I think that sometimes a kind of exhaustion can set in if there's kind of too much sensory detail for example. Sometimes that can be great if it's intentional, but if it's not intentional, I feel like, yeah, you don't want to risk it sort of washing over the reader at a certain point.
