The Importance of Retrieval Practice in Gameplay
The players are doing their prep to play and then when they come over to me we're into our first gameplay now i'm a teacher so i think of these things from an educational perspective. There is a focus on technique because the task has been simplified down into maybe a closed drill then into an open drill with more decisions some defensive pressure. For me the practice session after the prep to play will be bracketed by play periods also because i coach in a team environment i might be moving from general principles of how we will play to a structure what gracunya and others would call the system teaching the system.
