John Locke famously argued that marriage is really just a social utility for the raising of children. And it seems to me almost that that ends up then bleeding over to kind of misunderstandings of the notion of masculinity and femininity where those again are merely kind of external things. What people do makes you more feminine. What you do make you more masculine. It will never really give us the true nature of man and woman. So we have to go to a deeper view. If you think about creation, all of creation reflects God's being. That's really its first characteristic. All of creation is a gift.
