Does the God of Classical Theism Have Sympathy?
The classical theist says that god does not literally have sympathy or compassion. Where's the non classical theist? Well, let me define ympathy and compassion to help you understand these questions. Ympathy is an epistemic state that one achieves. So when you sympathize with someone, you satisfy three conditions. Your sympathy is grounded in an awareness of that person. An impassable god cannot satisfy the third condition for ympathy. Nor can the impassible god satisfy condition too in most situations.
