The Effects of Low Energy on the Gut

Some athletes are really good about meeting their energy needs and then some, even during high training volume periods, they struggle a little bit. It varies a lot from athlete to athlete. Some may be phobic of using certain types of foods or sports supplements because they've heard that they're not good for them. And sometimes what can happen is an athlete will try and eat all their food from, quote unquote, healthy sources and they'll end up under-feeling a bit.
