The Importance of Realism in Climate Models
Climate models can create counterfactual worlds that look like we think Earth would have looked like had it not been for X or Y or Z. You can just remove an input and see what would have happened. We do these experiments with climate models. That's a that's exactly one of the uses that we put the climate model to. The ice ages that we were discussing that are every paced about at 100,000 year interval is due to slow migrations of Earth's orbit.
