Obedience can become a negatively charged word, for sure. I hear you and many people saying, i've heard that version of obedience. Is there something else that feels like a more rewarding spiritual practice than just do what people tell you to do? It sounds lic sounds like you've done some meditating on this question, bill. Will you use the term? "Transactional obedience"? You no put a coin in the vending machine, a candy bar comes out of blessing comes out. That's how we all learned that way.
