You Don't Have to Ask Where the Next Starbucks Is
Don't assume because somebody does not look Northern European, that they are not Australian. A lot of friends who would be of Chinese descent where their parents were first-generators. They would quite often get pissed off with Chinese students in Melbourne just assuming that they spoke Mandarin or Cantonese. It was the reverse when Mum and I were in Wales a couple of years ago. Everybody in Wales expects that every person that they speak to who looks like a Welsh person will speak Welsh. So it's the reverse of that. Number nine. Don't ask where the nearest Starbucks is. Because the answer is 'f*** off'
