As an Indonesian, I have a very complicated relationship with Elizabeth Gilbert because she has pretty much single-handedly destroyed the island of Bali. What do you mean because it's had an influx of tourists? Oh, it's had it. Bali has been completely overrun with tourists. And in some ways, it's very good. It's really helped the local economy. But Bali is now sort of a pasty show of what it used to be in the 90s. When I was growing up in Indonesia, the tourism there was far more sustainable and now it's just become a parody.
