The Audio Book Is a Partnership Between the Writer and the Reader
A really good audio book is, in some sense, a partnership between the writer and and the reader of the audio books. I've heard a lot of people say that they really liked saint geord and peterson's 12 rules for life because he was reading it with so much emotion. But my goodness, the audio books where people just read the actual text word for word doesn't resonate very well. If i can substitute the vivacious, expressive, surprising, delightful voice of a strong reader, then they can just by past the inner voice altogether, and that voice can drop straight into my brain.
