The Fall of the Jacobins

The Muscatins were conservatives, but they weren't all monarchists or Catholic traditionalists. They were simply eager to return society to what they saw as the natural order of things. The Thermadorians and the Right had a common enemy in the Jacobins. Over four million Frenchmen either made the choice to boycott the election or were too apathetic to take part.
