Daniel Gohlman wrote a book recently about meditation. He and his co-author are part of this group of people known as the Jubus Jewish Buddhist mostly from New York City grew up in the 60s and 70s. They all went to like elite schools like Harvard and MIT and ended up in India where they embraced meditation. The research strongly suggests that if you meditate you're going to derive a long list of tantalizing health benefits including lowering your blood pressure, boosting your immune systemboosting your ability to focus rewiring key parts of your brain around self-awareness and compassion.
