What Are the Risks That Could Go Wrong?
We are very concerned ar to learn as much as we can, says Nick. One of the big challenges is a growing something in an environment that wouldn't grow there naturally. If you grow kelp faster than the rate at which nutrients can be provided, then effectively what you're doing is starving that region of the ocean. We think really carefully about this issue of nutrient provision. And that's the risk that we are acutely aware of and trying to devise schemes whereby that risk can either be removed or minimized.
