The sars cobit virus affects the smell system primarily, is it actually binds to the supporting cells. And so the virus enters into those cells and causes a lot of inflammation. The vast majority of people, probably 70 75 % of people, within that first seven to ten days, are able to bounce back and regain it. But what we now know is that there are people who continue to have persistent smell and loss disfunction.
