The state of the art technologies from 2003 are being used to evaluate technology for 2022. So we're suddenly back to a place where actually understanding what the text is about matters again, which is kind of lovely. I got some of the work I did between 2000 and 2010 actually matters now because we want to think about like, is it messing up on verbs or is it messed up on nouns? It turns out pronouns matter a lot to people. And there's a certain class of words that really get people' attention when you start dealing with race and gender.
