The Trump Steel Tariff and the American Jobs That Will Come Back
There was a previous tariff on steel at the early part of the 2000s. If you do the math, it was something gargantuan like multi hundreds of thousands of dollars per job saved. It would have been cheaper all the way around just to cut a check to these people whose jobs they were protecting for $55,000 each. But now we're going to lose American jobs in industries that use steel.
