The Three Falsified Hypotheses of Dogmatic Falsificationism
Laketosh: The most admired scientific theories simply fail to forbid any observable state of affairs. There's a planet that doesn't behave as we would expect according to newtonian mechanics, and then what do we do? No, we don't say newtonianism is overthrown. We could say there's an unknown planet affecting it. And then, if we can't find that planet, we say there's cosmic dust,. or maybe there's magnetic fields in the universe. So i think the third element here has to do with what he calls a demarcation criterion.
