Suge Knight, the former CEO of Death Row Records, recently stirred up controversy after making explosive claims about Sean "Diddy" Combs during an interview with Chris Cuomo on News Nation. Knight, currently serving time in prison, joined Cuomo's show via a phone call and shared a series of wild accusations about his longtime industry rival. However, one story stood out more than the others: what Knight referred to as the "hard-boiled egg test."
While it was difficult for Cuomo to keep Knight focused during the interview, this bizarre and unsettling story caught the attention of many. According to Knight, the "hard-boiled egg test" was a humiliating and abusive act that allegedly took place behind closed doors at Interscope Records, a label closely tied to both Knight and Combs during the peak of their careers.
"They would take a boiled egg," Knight explained, "and have those guys pull their pants down and bend over so they could stick the egg up their a--." If the egg cracked, Knight claimed, the perpetrators would "joke" that the person subjected to the test "wasn't ready yet."
Chris Cuomo, clearly disturbed, pushed for more details, stating, "I have never heard of anything like that." However, before Knight could provide further clarification, he veered off topic, leaving viewers with more questions than answers. The disturbing nature of the story sparked widespread discomfort among viewers, with many expressing disbelief over what they had just heard.
In the days following the interview, the internet became ablaze with reactions to Knight's claims. One particular image has resurfaced, adding fuel to the fire: a photo of British comedian Russell Brand holding a hard-boiled egg, standing alongside Diddy. The pair had worked together on the 2010 comedy *Get Him to the Greek,* and the image has taken on new meaning for many in light of Knight's allegations.
Social media users quickly latched onto the photo, drawing connections between it and the "hard-boiled egg test" Knight described. One user commented, "Not you pictured with Diddy holding an egg in your hand, this is getting worse and worse and worse... cuz now all the receipts are coming out." Another joked about the context of *Get Him to the Greek,* specifically a scene where Diddy chases Brand and co-star Jonah Hill, saying, "The scene where Diddy goes crazy & Russell Brand & Jonah Hill are running from him makes sooo much sense now!"
Despite the humor some are finding in the resurfaced image, others are far more disturbed by Knight's allegations. A social media user summed up the unease by stating, "I learned about the hard-boiled egg test today and I wish we had one of those MIB flashy things to just erase that memory, k thanks."
While it's unclear if further information about the alleged "hard-boiled egg test" will ever come to light, Suge Knight’s interview has certainly reignited discussions about the behind-the-scenes culture in the music industry during the 1990s and early 2000s. Whether these claims hold any truth or not, one thing is for sure: the story has captured widespread attention, and the resurfacing of past images has only deepened the intrigue.
